Kosibah at Twenty

Kosibah celebrated 20 years in business on 1st September 2011 at 116 Pall Mall.  Over two hundred guests attended the champagne and canapés reception and were party to the launch of the twentieth anniversary bridal collection Bienvenue 20.  A charity raffle on the night raised £670 for the Alzheimer's Society.

Say your VOWS at 51 Buckingham Gate

As wedding fever takes hold of London this spring in anticipation of the royal wedding, 51 Buckingham Gate Taj Suites & Residences – just a stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace – will open its gates to the first ever wedding show in the hotel’s history.

Kosibah is one of preferred suppliers for 51 Buckingham Gate and will be staging a fashion show of designer wedding dresses at the event.

Kosibah adds Flare to Oaken Special Event

Kosibah was the guest bridal designer at the Flare 2011 show organised by Oaken Events at Eko Hotels, Lagos.  The show took place over three days (6-8 April 2011) and culminated in a fashion show given by Kosibah of our evening and bridal wear.  Yemi Osunkoya, the designer behind the label, was there to give tips and advice and take consultations with brides-to-be.  Preston Bailey, celebrity event designer from the US, is the special guest of honour.

Kosibah To Showcase At The Luxury Wedding Show, The Grove

Couture bridalwear label Kosibah will be exhibiting and featuring 6 gowns on the catwalk at the Luxury Wedding Show, The Grove, Hertfordshire, Chandler’s Cross, Hertfordshire, WD3 4TG, ON Sunday 27th February 2011. Doors open at 11:00am until 4:30pm with Fashion Shows at 12:30 and 2:30pm.
 

The designer behind the label, Yemi Osunkoya, will be on hand at the Kosibah stand to speak to visitors and journalists about his bespoke bridal service and figure enhancing gowns. Kosibah will show a mixture of bridal and eveningwear on the Catwalk, and visitors to the stand will be able to view the designs and sketches on 3 iPads as well as get a chance for Yemi to sketch ideas for their dream gown.
 

“I love the boutique and intimate atmosphere of the Luxury Wedding Shows” Yemi says, “It gives vendors a real chance of engaging with visitors to their stands on a more personal and relaxed level”

About Kosibah: Kosibah’s signature use of corsetry and boned bodices cleverly recreates the classical and elegant hourglass figure, producing gowns that curve, shape and flatter the wearer. Alesha Dixon, British singer and Judge on BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing and Charlotte, daughter of Lord and Lady Boateng are amongst brides that have worn a Kosibah bridal gown. All gowns are bespoke and visits to the Kosibah studio are by appointment only.

Kosibah on the catwalk at Africa Fashion Week New York

Yemi Osunkoya and Kosibah will be showing at Africa Fashion Week New York on Friday 16th July at 6pm at the Broad Street Ballroom, 41 Broad St, New York, NY 10004.  Kosibah will be opening the show that evening with a catwalk display of day, evening and bridal wear.  We hope to see you there.

Yemi Osunkoya honoured as one of Britain's 100+ black achievers

The exhibition, 100+ black achievers, is a photographic exhibition that illustrates the achievement of inspirational members of the black community.  Yemi, the designer behind the Kosibah label, was delighted and honoured to be one of the achievers chosen at a reception on 3rd July 2010. He joined an illustrious cohort of other black achievers whose work and lives are celebrated by the exhibition.
