Kosibah on the catwalk at Africa Fashion Week New York

Yemi Osunkoya and Kosibah will be showing at Africa Fashion Week New York on Friday 16th July at 6pm at the Broad Street Ballroom, 41 Broad St, New York, NY 10004.  Kosibah will be opening the show that evening with a catwalk display of day, evening and bridal wear.  We hope to see you there.

Lukundo wins MNET Face of Africa 2010 wearing Kosibah

Congratulations to Lukundo from Zambia who took the crown at this year's MNET Face of Africa 2010 awards.  The final was held in Lagos Nigeria and Yemi Osunkoya from Kosibah was one of the designers selected to dress the contestants.  Lukundo was wearing a Kosibah evening gown as she came down the catwalk.

Kosibah Creations at St Andrews University

Kosibah Creations gowns, worn by students from St Andrews University, were on the catwalk as the finale of Refet Afrique's charity fashion show at St Andrews' famous Old Course Hotel on 20 Mar 2009. The gala event was a joint effort with Catwalk The World in support of the World Food Programme. Yemi Osunkoya was there in his role as goodwill ambassador for the charity. The fashion show was very well received and featured fabulous creations from two other London-based designers who are also goodwill ambassadors for Catwalk The World: Nkwo and Samantha Cole.

Kosibah Creations at Screen Nation Awards in support of Catwalk the World

As part of Yemi Osunkoya's continuing role as Goodwill Ambassador for Catwalk the World, Kosibah Creations staged a fashion show at the Screen Nation Awards ("the black Oscars") on 7th Feb 2008 at London's BAFTA. Kosibah Creations dressed Ms Josie d'Arby, the host of the show. You can see pictures of Ms d'Arby wearing the dress on Flickr.

Yemi Osunkoya named Goodwill Ambassador for Catwalk the World

Yemi Osunkoya, the designer behind the Kosibah Creations label, was honoured to be named as one of Catwalk the World's Goodwill Ambassadors.
As a first outing in his new role, Kosibah Creations staged a fashion show in support of the Edo State Women's Association Unity Day Celebrations at London's Harrington Hall Hotel on 25 Oct 2008.

Kosibah Creations showing at Boston Fashion Week - Fashion Expose 19 Sep 2008

Kosibah Creations was invited to show as the International Designer at Fashion Expose 2008. The final chapter of Boston Fashion Week is designed to provide a platform to maximise industry exposure for local and talented designers in the Boston area.

The one day extravaganza, held on Friday 19th September, served as a platform for national and international designers and received significant press coverage.

Kosibah Creations exhibiting at Sposa Wedding Show, Alexandra Palace, 14 Sep 2008

Kosibah Creations bridal gowns graced the runway at the Sposa Wedding Exhibition at Alexandra Palace London, N22 on Sunday 14th Sep 2008. We also had a stand at the exhibition and were delighted with the reception our designs received.
The show was hosted and organised by Devise Design.
A Kosibah Creations designer wedding dress is also featured on the cover of the September edition of Sposa Magazine, timed to coincide with the show.

Yemi O range of affordable couture unveiled at Kulture2Couture 2007 at London's Victoria & Albert Museum

Kosibah Creations was delighted to unveil its new line of affordable couture under the label Yemi O by Kosibah at Kulture2Couture 2007 at London's Victoria and Albert Museum on Fri-Sun 16/17/18 Nov 2007. The three day event was sponsored by the London Mayor's office. Over 2000 people attended the sell-out event.

Yemi Osunkoya, the designer behind the Kosibah Creations label, was a panellist at the 8th Annual Africa Business Conference at the Harvard Business School. Kosibah Creations also staged a fashion show as part of the conference's gala kick-off party. The 8th Annual Africa Business Conference at the Harvard Business School welcomed business professionals, policy makers, thought leaders and students to share insights on and debate new approaches and strategies to develop African businesses and the continent's economies. The conference was held February 17th - 19th at the Harvard Business School campus in Boston.

Kosibah Creations featured at Kulture2Couture 2005 - the best of black British fashion

Kosibah Creations was proud to exhibit our range of couture gowns at the Kulture2Couture event, sponsored by the Mayor of London and featuring the best of Black design talent in the UK. We were also one of the featured designers on the catwalk at the launch night on 24th November 2005 and held further fashions shows throughout the public weekend. The event was held 26-27 Nov 2005 at St Olave's College Building, Tooley St, London.

Glamour in Bankside - launch of Kosibah Creations studio

Glamour in Bankside: Yemi Osunkoya, the award winning designer behind the Kosibah Creations label, recently brought a touch of glamour to Bankside, London SE1. Launching his spacious, contemporary atelier in studios near Tate Modern gallery, the Globe Theatre and Zandra Rhodes' Fashion Museum, Yemi hosted a champagne reception and glittering fashion show featuring his 2004 bridal and eveningwear collection. Personalities from the political, diplomatic, fashion and media circles were in attendance including: the Rt. Hon Paul Boateng MP, Minister to the Treasury; his delightful wife, Janet, a client of Kosibah Creations and wearing one of his stunning corset outfits; Mrs Ola Ibitoye representing the wife of the Nigerian High Commissioner; Miss Nigeria UK, Ms Elizabeth Isiarho, amongst others. The bridal collection featured beautifully cut gowns in ivory zibeline, duchesse satin, re-embroidered lace and organza, with details in ruby red diamante and hand crafted jewellery incorporated into the gowns. The theme was Audrey Hepburn meets the Fifties and carried the Kosibah signature corsetry throughout to produce figure enhancing gowns. Kosibah Creations Couture gowns are made to order, by appointment, from the new studios. Accessories such as head pieces, tiaras, jewellery, shoes etc from selected designers are also available from the studio.

Savoy Bridal Show - Savoy Hotel, London

Savoy Bridal Show: Kosibah Creations was one of the couture bridal exhibitors at the Savoy Bridal Show, The Savoy Hotel, London on 5th October 2002. With a stand featuring several gowns from the collection in the exquisite River Room, Yemi Osunkoya was able to meet with brides-to-be planning their weddings in the next couple of years. The fashion editor and photographer from the influential Italian fashion magazine Book Moda visited the stand and were very interested in featuring several Kosibah Creation gowns in forthcoming editions of the magazine.

Dressing Agbani Darego at Dorchester Hotel, London

Miss World at the Dorchester Hotel: Kosibah Creations was one of four designers of Nigerian descent that were chosen to feature in a photo-shoot with the current Miss World, Ms Agbani Darego. The photo-shoot, which took place in two function rooms at the Dorchester Hotel, was organised by the publisher of Ovation Magazine for a special feature on Ms Darego.

Kosibah Creations at Twice Is Nice Encore Bridal Show, Charlotte, USA

Twice Is Nice: Encore Bridal Show, Charlotte, N. Carolina, USA. Yemi Osunkoya was invited to participate in the Encore Bridal Show in Charlotte by the event organisers after seeing his work at the National Wedding Show earlier on in the year. Billed as an international bridalwear couturier, Yemi Osunkoya showed ten bridal gowns on the catwalk and had a stand at the exhibition hall, the Oasis Shriners Temple. Kosibah Creations has been invited to participate in further planned shows in other American states in the near future.
